VENUE CHANGE - Please note this event will now take place at The Circle

In a world where financial decisions are made in distant boardrooms, the economic fate of our cities is often determined by those with little connection to the communities they impact. But what if local people had the power to direct investment, shape their own economic future, and build wealth that stays within their city?

This session explores how local wealth funds, democratic finance, and community-driven investment can redistribute economic power and challenge the status quo. We’ll dive into real-world examples of communities taking control – creating financial ecosystems that prioritise long-term prosperity over short-term profit.

Can Sheffield break free from traditional financial structures and develop a more inclusive, resilient, and locally driven economy? Or are we trapped in a system that keeps decision-making in the hands of the few? Join us as we unpack the opportunities, challenges, and practical steps toward a future where money works for the many, not just the wealthy elite.

Expect provocative discussions, fresh ideas, and inspiring models of financial transformation – because real change starts when we ask the right questions.
