Despite all the headlines about the ‘evils’ of plastic, and worthy individuals trying to cut down, we are now producing more than ever and our consumption continues to rise. So is it time to rethink the entire plastics industry and change the narrative around single use?
Neofossils could be the answer to the plastics problem. This plastic, created from agricultural waste rather than fossil fuels, can actually suck carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere to help combat climate change. All we have to do is look after it.
Join us for a discussion and open Q&A with Tony Ryan OBE, Co-Director of the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures and Professor of Polymer Chemistry, as he challenges the common perceptions about this much-maligned material, and outlines an alternative, sustainable future for plastics.
