The Sheffield Marxist Society is hosting a panel discussion at the University of Sheffield titled World Capitalism in Crisis: How do we Fight Back?
With Britain facing the biggest cost of living crisis in decades, and a highly unstable political climate, many of us are looking to radical alternatives to guide us out of capitalist devastation. The recent strike wave is a clear indication that workers across the country are ready and willing to mobilise.
The problems facing us are by no means limited to Britain, and we must also discuss and understand how they connect to wider global issues such as the ongoing climate crisis, rising international tensions, and the war in Ukraine.
Speakers from Insulate Britain, the Sheffield and Yorkshire TUC and Socialist Appeal will talk about fighting back in the face of these crises, how to link individual issues to the broader political struggle, and what the way forward should be.
The panel will be followed by an open discussion where we will invite any questions and contributions from the room. We are looking forward to hearing what you have to say! The event is open to all, come and debate with us!
