From Issue To Impact

In partnership with UBI Lab Network

Awareness of Universal Basic Income has shifted from a barely known concept to a front-and-centre potential policy over the last two years.

Nowhere has more impressive progress been made than in Wales and Northern Ireland. With the Welsh government now trialling Basic Income and Northern Ireland commissioning a twelve month study to pilot a UBI.

How has this happened? Who has been involved? What did they do to get us here?

Join us to hear the journeys UBI Lab Wales and UBI Lab Northern Ireland have taken in bringing the issues they are passionate about, changing all the way from grassroots conversations to national action.

Patrick Brown is co-founder of UBI Lab Northern Ireland and the Alliance Party's South Down candidate in the upcoming Assembly election. He has been an Alliance Councillor on Newry, Mourne and Down District Council since 2014. Patrick is co-chair of the Cross Party Parliamentary and Local Government Group on UBI (CPPLG). He is pushing for a trial of UBI in Northern Ireland, based on research and policy proposals he has done on UBI as a 'Peace Dividend’.
