Rewilding is a buzzword in sustainability and it has seen such an increase in popularity that even the British Royal Family have been petitioned to rewild the 1.4% of UK land they own. However, according to Rewilding Britain, less than 1% of the UK is currently being rewilded.

This debate will explore key questions about rewilding. If rewilding is a key tool against biodiversity loss, what are the obstacles preventing the restoration of more natural habitats? Is there a best way to rewild? What effect does the reintroduction of animals have? How do we combat invasive species? Importantly, what policy and economic tools can incentivise rewilding?

Join us as we ask these questions to a panel of rewilding experts and practitioners, and feel free to bring your own questions too: what do you think are the most important issues for rewilding in the UK?

This is an interactive online event that brings together an expert panel to discuss the issues around rewilding. Questions can be submitted by the audience during the session or in advance. By the end of the session, we will draw out the key issues that need to be resolved to unlock rewilding in the UK.
