Join us for a conversation about community responses to the rising cost of living. With living costs continuing to rise this year, and with Sheffield known as one of the ‘low pay capitals’ of the UK, how can we respond as a city and in our communities?
How can we protect ourselves from cynicism and despair, and build engagement in using what we have to the greatest effect?
How do we understand the importance of local spending and local economic multiplier effects alongside more direct action to support people and communities where they are most affected.
With short presentations from a range of sector representatives, including campaign groups, local employers, Credit Union and community organisations, we explore the question of how local money and local spending can benefit people who live here more effectively.
