This is a call to artists: how do we tell our histories, create a culture of change, and find the practical steps to move forward? And what part are we the monument to this moment?
Yuen Fong Ling on public art and memorial making since Covid 19 and the Black Lives Matter & Rhodes Must Fall movements, for Festival of Debate 2021.
Yuen Fong LING is an artist, curator, researcher based in Sheffield, currently at Bloc Studios, and Senior Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University.
His art practice explores omitted histories, making connection with people, places, and their potential legacy now.‘
