Power to the People: Reviving Sheffield's Local Democracy

Power to the People: Reviving Sheffield's Local Democracy

In partnership with Sheffield For Democracy and The Big City Conversation

By 6th May Sheffield will have held a referendum to decide if the City Council should govern by a ‘Cabinet’ or a ‘Committee’ structure, and in March of this year the Council voted by a large majority to set up new ‘Local Area Committees’ in Sheffield.

The purpose of this session is to discuss why these changes were necessary and what difference they might make to the citizenship of the city.

Chaired by Gordon Dabinet from Sheffield for Democracy and featuring speakers from the It’s Our City campaign group, FaithStar, Voluntary Action Sheffield, Sheffield City Council, Sheffield Climate Alliance and SADACCA.
